The Origin of eegee’s
Tucson, Arizona is HOT. That’s why, in 1971, Edmund Irving and Robert Greenberg bought a vending truck and began serving frozen lemonade. Combining their initials ‘E’ and ‘G’, the pair called the business “eegee’s.” They sold their silky smooth, frosty deliciousness in front of high schools, at sporting events, and at concerts. Since then, eegee’s has revolutionized the food scene. Not just with their frozen beverages (the frozen drink itself is called an ‘eegee’) but with their iconic subs, award-winning fries, and more.
Why Arizonans Love eegee’s
An eegee is a frozen beverage or raspados, primarily made of real fruit juices. Many flavors also include delicious chunks of real fruit. Over the years, eegee’s has mastered a silky consistency that sets it apart from traditional slushies, shaved ice, or smoothies. And its even more refreshing. You don’t have to wait for summer either. Whether you’re needing a tropical escape for your taste buds in the winter or a cool drink under the hot sun, you can always grab an eegee. And now, the eegee is coming to LA. Lucky Angelenos!
The eegee’s Fun Flavors are Coming to LA
One of the best things about eegee’s is the flavors. There are even monthly specials, so there’s always something new to try. Many are fruit-based, like Watermelon Pineapple or Kiwi Lemonade. For something different, try nostalgic flavors like Cotton Candy and Root Beer. Or if you like aguas frescas like Horchata, you can get a delicious eegee’s version of those too. How about a Pickle eegee topped with chamoy and Tajín? And then there’s the collaborations, one of which led to the Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias’s Chocolate Cake eegee. With innovation being one of eegee’s’ founding principles, guests of all palates can find a favorite flavor.
