Ride the “Beach Bus” from Antelope Valley to Santa Monica Pier
Published on July 12, 2024
Los Angeles County has started a new “Beach Bus” service just in time for summer. The low-cost service runs four days a week—on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday—from the Antelope Valley to Santa Monica Beach. You’ll be able to ride from the desert to the beach all summer long, right up until Labor Day.
If you live in the Antelope Valley, you’ll know how hot summers get. The Beach Bus was designed to offer families, seniors, and the general public a low-cost way to get relief from the heat and have some fun. Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger contributes discretionary funding to support the Beach Bus, and hopes Antelope Valley residents take full advantage of this reliable and affordable new service.
Where to catch the Beach Bus
In Antelope Valley, the Beach Bus runs from both Lancaster and Palmdale. In Lancaster, catch the Beach Bus from Sgt. Steve Owen Memorial Park, 43063 10th Street. In Palmdale, you’ll board the Beach Bus at Palmdale Transportation Center, 39000 Clock Tower Plaza Drive. The trip covers approximately 65 miles each way.
The cost is $6 each way for adults and children. Senior citizens (ages 60 and over) and persons with disabilities can ride for $2 each.
Catch the Beach Bus from other LA locations!
There are also Beach Bus services to Santa Monica Pier from Altadena, Castaic, West Ranch, Charter Oak, Duarte, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge, and East Lost Angeles, for only $3 each way. ($1 for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.)
There’s really no better excuse to visit us at the Pier this summer!
