Pacific Park celebrates the Dodgers’ incredible 2024 World Series win with special Pacific Wheel lighting!
Joining other landmarks like City Hall, we’re lighting our world-famous 90-foot-tall Ferris wheel in a dazzling display. The design will feature Los Angeles Dodgers blue and white as well as the LA insignia and a ‘Go Dodgers!’ scrolling message.
The Triumph
On Wednesday night the Dodgers proved themselves the winners once again in a nail-biting 7-6 game at Yankee Stadium in New York.
The Path to Win the 2024 World Series
Our beloved LA baseball team triumphed 6-3 against the New York Yankees in an unbelievable World Series opener on Friday October 25. Then, they picked up where they left off in a 4-2 victory on Saturday. Game three on Monday brought yet another 4-2 win against the Yankees, making the Dodgers the favorites to win the series. The Yankees would have had to overcome a 3-0 deficit to win, and only one baseball team in postseason history has ever done that—the 2004 Red Sox, who barged back from the 3-0 deficit against the Yankees and won the 2004 ALCS.
This is the Dodgers’ eighth World Series championship win. Pacific Park celebrates this Dodgers’ World Series win by lighting the Pacific Wheel in blue and white.
The Pacific Wheel
The Pacific Wheel is the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel featuring 174,000 LED lights that are mounted on the Ferris wheel’s 40 spokes and two hubs. The Ferris wheel’s lighting system features 16.7 million color value combinations while the programming and display software presents imaging up to 24 frames per second to display dynamic, custom, computer-generated lighting entertainment. The eco-friendly, enhanced LED lighting provides 81 percent greater energy savings than most Ferris wheel’s traditional incandescent bulbs.
The Ferris wheel soars nine stories high and lifts riders more than 130 feet above the Pacific Ocean to offer extraordinary views of the Southern California coastline from its location on the internationally popular Santa Monica Pier.
