Twilight on the Pier Comedy with Paul Ogata at Pacific Park, an Evening of Laughs Hosted By Anna Valenzuela

The annual Twilight on the Pier is now in its final week, with the last theme as Japanese Vibes on September 25th! The evening of comedy will begin at 6:30pm at Pacific Park’s Seaside Pavilion (near Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) featuring comedians Atsuko Okatsuka, Lara Beitz, Alex Hooper, headliner Paul Ogata and host Anna Valenzuela.

Paul Ogata headlines shows around the world, and was even the winner of the 32nd Annual San Francisco International Comedy Competition. Ogata recently had a half hour stand-up special on Comedy Central Asia, and on the Showtime special “Pacific Rim Comedy.” He has also appeared on CBS’s “The Late Late Show”, Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” and “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen”. Opening up the evening’s line-up is LA comedian Atsuko Okatsuka, who has been named a top comedian to watch in 2018 and 2019 by both Vulture and TimeOut LA. Okatsuka also can be seen on her Hulu comedy special “They Call Me Stacy”. Lara Beitz will also be performing stand-up. She has been a regular performer at The Comedy Bar in Chicago, performed sketch comedy at The Second City, and has taken part in SketchFest, Oddball Comedy Festival, and the Laughing Devil Comedy Festival to name a few. Alex Hooper is well-known for roasting the judging panel on America’s Got Talent, being the only contestant to get a “yes” from Simon Cowell and a “no” from the rest of the panel. Hooper has a comedy album “Hugs. Drugs. Pugs.” which was a #1 hit on Amazon, and currently releases a weekly podcast called “Achilles’ Heel.”
The host of the kick-off night of Twilight on the Pier will be returning for Japanese Vibes: comic Anna Valenzuela, who is best known for being on Dress 4 Beasts Comedy Showcase 2016 and Roast Battle 2 on Comedy Central. She also has been featured at Broke LA, and does regular performances at the Comedy Store and the Improv. Valenzuela hosts two podcasts, “12 Questions” and “Bruja-ja.”
Be sure to join us for the final evening of this amazing annual event! The comedy stage will be located in Pacific Park’s Seaside Pavilion, which is located on the west end of the amusement park next to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. The comedy stage is 21+. Doors open around 6PM, and runs until about 9pm.
This will be the final day of Twilight on the Pier for 2019. This is a free event with plenty of activities for all guests including live music on the Twilight main stage, fun Instagrammable moments and art throughout the Pier, and more performance art at the west end.
