Earth Day Beach Cleanup at Santa Monica State Beach

Update: Santa Monica Travel & Tourism’s nonprofit foundation Santa MoniCARES presented Heal the Bay with a $5,000 check during a partner based “Earth Day” Beach Clean Up at the seaside aquarium under the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday, April 22, 2021.
Joining in the Earth Day celebration and $5,000 check presentation was Sue Himmelrich, Mayor, City of Santa Monica; Marslaidh Ryan, Director, Heal the Bay Aquarium; and Ellis O’Connor, Santa MoniCARES board member.
Santa MoniCARES, a part of Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, will be hosting an Earth Day Beach Cleanup on Thursday, August 22nd from 4:00pm-5:30pm at Santa Monica State Beach, near the Santa Monica Pier and surrounding areas.
The beach cleanup is following all LA County guidelines in regards to COVID-19 and requires participants to pre-register. Participants will be grouped in 20 or less, with a team captain for each group and clean up designated beach/strand/pier areas.
Santa MoniCARES will be donating on behalf of Earth Day to Heal the Bay, with a check presentation occurring at 4PM that day.

Santa MoniCARES is a coalition of representatives from Santa Monica Travel & Tourism and community partners.
