Private Events on the Santa Monica Pier

The amusement park and sections of the Pier close from time to time for special events, film shoots, and private fundraisers. We communicate these closures by posting the hours on this website, and on a sign by the entrance to the parking lot so that day visitors know the limited hours prior to parking. Private events are typically scheduled for just a couple of hours in the morning prior to the Park opening, but occasionally we will close on high-traffic days in the summer and on weekends. These types of closures are usually booked weeks in advance and notice is posted on our site to provide guests the opportunity to plan their visit accordingly.

Pacific Park is a unique and iconic location for corporate events, company picnics, wrap parties, movie premieres, and fundraisers. The Park’s Seaside Pavilion offers spectacular views of Malibu, the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island, and can accommodate up to 300 guests reception style in the 3,600 sq ft space. For larger events, the entire Park can be rented exclusively for up to 2,000 guests. Learn more about hosting your event at the Santa Monica Pier.

Many local non-profit organizations host their fundraisers and community events at Pacific Park including Pier del Sol, a celebration for the athletes of the Special Olympics of Southern California, and Palpalooza, the annual fundraiser for the Police Activities league.

The Park may also close for film shoots. The Pier and Park have been used in hundreds of films and television shows. When Hollywood productions come to the Pier, the Park may close off sections of the Pier to allow the productions to take place.
