What Jobs are Available in Santa Monica at the Pier?

The amusement park has 8 food service locations including quick-service restaurants serving made-to-order pizzas, tacos and burritos, burgers and fries, a counter-service coffee shop, and several mobile treat carts serving snacks like Popcorn and Wetzel’s Pretzels. Available positions include cashier, fry cook, expediter, and barista. Pacific Park’s dining plaza is a great place for anyone with fast food or concessions experience or those interested in being trained in the food and restaurant industry.

Pier Gear is a bustling souvenir and gift shop offering t-shirts, beach wear, and Santa Monica memorabilia. In addition to the storefront on the Pier’s boardwalk, there are many satellite retail kiosks located outside offering toys and collectables. Applicants with retail experience can enjoy working outdoors and interacting with Pier guests who visit from all over the world. Pier Gear is great place to learn about working in retail. New hires will learn sales essentials, gain experience working with guests, and operating the point-of-sale system.

There are 14 midway games at the Santa Monica Pier where guests can win stuffed animals and prizes. If you like talking to people and getting others to have a fun time, consider a position at one of the fun games where you will operate the game, encourage guests to play, and cheer them on as they try to win.

Pacific Park takes up just two acres of the Santa Monica Pier, but it takes a lot of time and attention to ensure the park is clean and welcoming. If you have grounds, custodial, or cleaning experience, a job on the Park’s grounds crew might be a great place for you. For new applicants with limited experience, the Park offers on-the-job training where you can gain experience learning the behind-the-scenes workings of a world-class entertainment destination. Grounds employees work as a team to collect and move trash bins, clean common areas, and maintain park facilities.

Work as a front-of-house ticketing cashier helping guests plan their visit and make purchases at the ticket booth. This is a great opportunity if you have guest service experience and have worked with any point-of-sale register in the past, or are interested in interacting with guests and learning how to operate a register.

Pier ambassadors inform visitors of the Pier and Park rules, answer questions, and walk the entire length of the 500-meter pier to observe and report on guest traffic and activity. This position is ideal for applicants with excellent communication skills, a desire to talk with guests, and ability to see a lot of things going on at once.

Other positions available include security, maintenance, and revenue control. See all of the positions at pacpark.com/jobs.
