Netflix will hold a premier screening of their live-action series of the beloved Japanese manga, One Piece, on Thursday, August 24 at the Santa Monica Pier.

Netflix will be hosting a 10 fan events to celebrate the release of their live-action adaptation of One Piece. The events will launch on Thursday, August 24th at the Santa Monica Pier with subsequent events taking place around the globe. One Piece is the story of pirate Monkey D. Luffy and his quest for the One Piece, a treasure that will make him the King of the Pirates. Those planning to attend one of the events are encouraged to wear straw hats like Luffy and his crew.

Netflix’s One Piece is a live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga and anime. The program will stream August 31 on Netflix. Iñaki Godoy plays Monkey D. Luffy, the pirate captain searching for the One Piece treasure. Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar play Luffy’s crew members Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Jacob Romero and Sanj respectively.

This official launch event held on the Santa Monica Pier will start at 6 PM and include exclusive access to Pacific Park. Attendees can enjoy fun games, foods, and rides. Fans hoping to attend need to register in advance at at Street Food Cinema. Those without a ticket will not be able to attend. The amusement park will be closed to the public for the evening.

Netflix suggests following their France, Indonesia, Japan, Italy, Philippines, Thailand, Germany, Brazil and Mexico social media accounts for further details on screening events in those areas. There will be an event in Paris, France August 29. On August 30 they will host fans in Jakarta at Pantai Indah Kapuk, as well as locations in Tokyo and Milan, and Taguig, Metro Manila to be announced in the coming days. The final events are scheduled on Aug. 31 in Bangkok, Germany, Rio De Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach, and Mexico City’s Frontón Inclán.

About One Piece

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 22, 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 106 tankōbon volumes as of July 2023.
