Santa Monica Public Library’s Summer Reading Program
Published on July 9, 2025
Santa Monica Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is designed to combat the “summer slide,” helping youth maintain and build their reading and learning skills during the school break.
Readers of all ages can now register for the Summer Reading Program here. From Saturday, June 14, through Saturday, August 16, registered participants can log their reading time online and earn special prizes.
Summer reading is one of the most important things kids can do to keep their brain active and learning, even when school is out for the summer. Reading turns downtime into an opportunity for imagination to run wild, while keeping kids prepared for back to school.
The Santa Monica Public Library will be awarding participants who complete the reading challenge with a FREE ride card, good for any ride in Pacific Park!
We hope to see you at Pacific Park soon!
