Swinging Paradise on the Seaside Swing
Published on September 3, 2024
It’s no coincidence that the official model name of our Seaside Swing is the ‘Happy Swing.’
This joyful ride is like your old favorite park swing, but with added acceleration and airtime. Plus, you get to swing with the gorgeous Pacific Ocean as your backdrop. Sea breezes, delighted squeals from the amusement park, delicious smells wafting from Snackville on the Pier—what’s not to love? Even better, it’s for kids of all ages, even the grown up ones.
Riding the Seaside Swing at Pacific Park
Originally designed for children and their parents, the Seaside Swing is a more calming approach to a day at the beach. But never fear, it’s still an exciting, fun-filled ride. Seaside Swing seats up to 16 guests on a two-sided bench that sways in a 45-degree arc and is highlighted by vibrant colors and lights.
Choose your spot on the back-to-back bench seats, feel the spray off the ocean as you rock into motion, swing high and reach for the sky. There’s nothing more fun than swinging in the sun in Santa Monica.
The height requirement to ride the Seaside Swing is 36”. There is a maximum height of 73″.
The Seaside Swing opened in 2017 replacing the Harbor Patrol car train. You can still get your photo on one of the original Harbor Patrol trucks located right next to the Seaside Swing.
Other Happy Swings
Seaside Swing was built by Italian amusement park ride manufacturer Zamperla. If you really loved your Seaside Swing experience, there are other Happy Swings to try: a 16 seater at Luna Park in Coney Island, New York; a 12-seat version at Paradise Pier Biloxi in Mississippi, and another at Aztlán Parque Urbano in Mexico.
