Twilight on the Pier Comedy with Monty Franklin at Pacific Park, an Evening of Laughs Hosted by Ken Garr

This week’s upcoming theme for Twilight on the Pier is Aussie Splash! Taking place Wednesday, September 18th at Pacific Park’s Seaside Pavilion (behind the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) comedians Yasmin Jade Kassim, Stephen Furey, Vanessa Gonzalez, and Monty Franklin will be performing with Ken Garr hosting at 6:30pm.

Headliner Monty Franklin is an Australian born stand-up comedian who headlines in comedy clubs around the globe, including The Laugh Factory, The Improv Comedy Clubs, and the World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood. He also opens for Rob Schneider and appears on his Netflix show “Real Rob”. Franklin can also be seen on the shows “New Girl” and “Becoming Bond.” You can see a taste of his comedy from one of his performances at The Laugh Factory:
The first comedian of the Aussie Splash line-up is Yasmin Jade Kassim, who has quite the range in her career. She is an Australian actress known for being on the soap opera “Neighbours.” Later on, she was runner-up in the 2013 Miss World Australia beauty pageant, and in the film Jungle. Steve Furey started his stand-up career in the Sacramento and Bay-area comedy scenes. Now based in Los Angeles, he is a writer and comedian who has performed alongside comedians such as Robin Williams, Natasha Leggero, and Ron White to name a few. Furey currently runs the monthly show Little Princes at The World Famous Comedy Store. Vanessa Gonzalez is also in the set for the evening. She has a stand-up comedy special on Comedy Central, as well as a short special set to air on HBO Latino. She currently stars in the webseries “Ms. Vanessa” for Mas Mejor.
The host for the evening is Ken Garr. He is the host of “The Kym & Ken Show” on Dash Radio, and is the creator and producer of the monthly show “Long Hard Sets” at the Hollywood Improv. Garr has also been featured on Sirius XM Radio, Fox, HULU, and Comedy Central. He can also be seen regularly performing at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club. This is the first time a full line up of stand-up comedians has been planned for Twilight on the Pier. The comedy stage will be located in Pacific Park’s Seaside Pavilion, which is located on the west end of the amusement park next to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. The comedy stage is 21+ and doors open around 6PM, and runs until about 9pm.
Twilight on the Pier runs every Wednesday evening from August 21 – September 25th. This is a free event with plenty of activities for all guests including live music on the Twilight main stage, fun Instagrammable moments and art throughout the Pier, and more performance art at the west end.
