Wellness & Waves is another free community event produced by the Santa Monica Pier Corp. The Pier has provided free, public programing including fitness activities for many years. Roga (“Run” + “Yoga”) was a popular program hosted at the pier before the pandemic where participants could run along the beach ended at the pier where they could enjoy a free yoga class. Wellness & Waves is a continuation of that tradition focused on highlighting local yoga instructors and offering Santa Monica yogis the opportunity to sample new yoga styles for participants of any age or skill level.

Enjoy the unique experience of practicing yoga right over the cool waters of the ocean. Find your inner peace while listening to the waves beneath your yoga mat and the flapping of seagull wings overhead. The 4-week series launches Saturday, October 7 at 8 AM. You do not have to attend the classes in order. There is no fee to attend, but everyone coming to the yoga session is required to sign a waiver and bring their own yoga mat. Its also a great idea to pack a small towel and drink lots of water before and after yoga practice.

The Wellness & Waves series and other free events currently happening at the Pier are provided for the community to continue making this historic landmark a welcome space for locals and visitors alike. In addition to Wellness & Waves, the Pier Corporation is also running a Locals’ Night series once a month on Thursday evenings.
