Santa Monica Pier hosts Locals Night

Published on March 9, 2022

On March 10th The Santa Monica Pier Corporation is hosting the brand new event series, Local’s Night, that will feature live music entertainment, local art installations, and exclusive offers to local businesses.

Those who are local to the City of Los Angeles all know that there is never a shortage of things to do just around the corner. Santa Monica especially is a city filled with talented artists and musicians that have contributed to the development of the heart and soul of the city. Gather your friends and family and head down to the pier to see what Santa Monica has to offer.

At the Cayton Children’s Museum at the Santa Monica Promenade, there will be an activity for kids to decorate collage cubes modeled after the artwork of Corita Kent.
At Rusty’s on the Pier, there will be a DJ and a “Save the Pier!” play by the Santa Monica Public Theatre based on the time during the ’70s when activists and community members had to come together to prevent the near demolition of the Santa Monica Pier.

If you’re looking for some local live entertainment performances, the West End Stage of the pier will be performances by DJ “Jelani” from PYFC (Pico Youth & Family Center) and KCRW’s DJ “Valida” who broadcasts out of Santa Monica College.

At Pacific Park, the amusement park on the pier, there will be a live musical performance by the Santa Monica Music Center’s White Chocolate Martini with jazz, blues, soul, and jazzy arrangements of music from the 80s and 90s. The Santa Monica Music Center has been a staple for the Santa Monica Community as it has been family-owned since 1972. Since then it has been contributing greatly to the community of Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and Malibu to offer local instruments available to rent.

Local’s Night by the Santa Monica Pier is one of many events throughout the year hosted by the Pier Corporation for locals to enjoy outdoors in the ocean air. Other events include Wellness & Waves, which is an exercise event in the early morning on Saturdays for locals to come together to strengthen their muscles while inhaling the salty sea air from the waves that are crashing just below.

Pacific Park is an ideal outdoor venue for many events because of its high traffic and engagement opportunity on the iconic Santa Monica Pier. The Park’s Seaside Pavilion offers spectacular views of Malibu, the Pacific Ocean, and Catalina Island. Pacific Park offers options for buy-outs, event mix-ins, activations, and opportunities to customize the world-famous Pacific Wheel.
