Veterans’ Day 2024 Ferris Wheel Lighting on the Pier

Published on November 5, 2024

Join us for the Veterans’ Day 2024 Ferris wheel lighting at the Santa Monica Pier. Pacific Park will light the Pacific Wheel in red, white, and blue on Monday, November 11 in recognition of Veterans’ Day 2024.

Each year in the United States we observe Veterans Day to commemorate our military families. The event coincides with similar celebrations like Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which mark the anniversary of the end of World War I.

Pacific Park celebrates Veterans Day with a colorful salute on the Pacific Wheel in red, white, and blue, with icons representing all five branches of the US Armed Forces.

Not only that, but the City of Santa Monica is joining the U.S. Army for a special Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. on the Santa Monica Pier. Click here for more details.

This special Veterans’ Day Ferris wheel lighting on the Pier will take place on the evening of Monday, November 11. You can watch the Ferris wheel lights from dusk until 11:35 PM each evening. Enjoy watching the light program online at www.pacpark.com/live.

About the Veterans’ Day Ferris Wheel Lighting on the Pier

Pacific Park regularly programs the Ferris wheel to display seasonal programing and themed light designs for holidays and special occasions. We installed the Pacific Wheel’s state-of-the-art lighting package in 2016.It can display over 1.6 million different colors and animate patterns and icons in 24 frames per second.

Solar arrays inside Pacific Park power the energy-efficient LEDs on the face of the Ferris wheel. Pacific Park staff  curate and designe the light programs. Because each design is manually animated, some designs can take hours of programming. The aim is to provide fun, high-energy, and sometimes whimsical designs to entertain guests on the Santa Monica Pier and surrounding beaches.
